Marie Losier (from NYC) and Chris Chase (from Seattle) presented programs tonight. Marie focused on Tony Conrad, Joe Gibbons, et al. And Chris on George Kuchar, including Marie's two portraits of the Kuchar brothers.. Both programs went really well, and seemed quite popular. Especially Tony Conrad's The Producer, and George's "condensation" of several of his weather diaries. Unsurprisingly, Marie's portraits went together quite nicely with George's films, especially because
in Marie's Electocute Your Stars George discusses his weather obsession at length. But the programs ran a bit late. And so we got stuck with the Reef again, because nothing else was open. Good sports, the lot of them, to put up with that! But no hardship for me...
Unfortunately, this is the best picture I got of Chris. A bit of an oblique angle...
...but at least I caught his girlfriend, Laura Blazyk (on the left). She's a fellow fan of onion-rings, which we shared an order of.
Here, Marie's delivering her order. I hardly have to bother anymore! I begin to wonder why I bother with the pretense of even opening the menu.
