Monday, October 24, 2005: Farewell to the Barbary Coast

Dcfc0093We'd planned to get up early and see some more of San Francisco.  But instead we slept in, then walked up to have brunch with my old friend Kerry Laitala (pictured, in action).  On the way, we stopped off at the art hotel, because I forgot to return the key.  And in Chinatown, because Carrie had her eye on some souvenirs.  After coffee and bagels, we said our farewells.  But since there was still plenty of time before the plane left, Carrie and I went to the Goodwill at Van Ness and Mission.  She found a nice skirt.  I got mostly records for my new turntable, as well as a couple of shirts.   We'd hoped to got to Community Thrift on Valencia as well, but ran out of time.  So we stuffed everything into the suitcase, then caught the BART to the airport.
Dcfc0097We hit a (shockingly expensive) airport bar during a long layover in Salt Lake City.  Carrie's damn glad she doesn't live there.  Can't argue with that.  We finally got home good and late.  And just crashed.
