Thursday & Friday, November 29 & 30, 2005: Scotch & Stalinism

Dcfc0001_6Carrie worked all night at the Mark on Thursday.  So I stayed in, and worked on the China movie.  It's coming super-slow.  But a few cuts seem to appear every time I sit down with it for a few hours.  So I'm optimistic I'll have something eventually.  At about quarter to one I went down to visit, and have a drink.  Was hoping for a pastis, but they were out.  So I went with a nice single malt instead (Laphroaig), then went back home and kept working.
Dcfc0004_3Friday I brought the kitten a present from the Safeway: a couple of little fur mice.  A little devil, she nicked em before I even got a chance to give em to her proper.  Here you can can see em still stuck in the packaging.
Kp1_2050927t2121In other news, I came across this site, which provides copious photographs of an annual festival expressing the joys of North Korean "culture."  Leave it to li'l Kim to take the sexy out of cheerleading.  But hey, he's a guy who goes to extremes.  And there is something weirdly fascinating about an artform so asinine it makes socialist realism look sophisticated.  I'll take the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders over this crap, anyday.  Democracy, Whisky, Sexy!, as they say.  No need to push it, though.  Additionally, I came across a very interesting website, that enables students to anonymously rate their professors.  Including how "hot" they are.  And it features NYU Law School as well.  I rated one of my former professors.  Guess who?  He didn't get a chili pepper, that's for sure.  I think a carrion flower would be more apposite.
